Humberto Alvarez is among the most talented soccer players in the state of Oregon. He plays for South Medford High School, where he is team captain. He also plays on a Southern Oregon club team, Oregon's Olympic Development team, and the Far West Region IV Olympic Development Team. Soccer is his life! What a selfless young man! He gave up most of his soccer season to be able to help a younger brother with a bone marrow transfer. His team was ranked among the top in the state, but he chose his family first, the right choice. There will always be another soccer season, but he was able to save a little brother.
